| Workshop Overview: In workshops
we will breakout into small groups of 6 to 10 people. Each group is facilitated
by a Standish moderator. The workshop will run for 45 minutes. The group
is given a different case puzzle with a set of directions, problems and
goals. For example, in the first workshop each group will be given a different
set of products and scenarios. Each of these products will have benchmark
and TCO results. The goal is to decide, based upon this information, which
is the best product for the company and why.
Workshop Presentations:
After the workshop group has solved their puzzle, each group will then
elect a spokesperson and create a predefined formatted presentation. The
groups will then return to the general assembly and each group's spokesperson
will be given 5 minutes to present their results.

| 1. TCO v Benchmarks: How
does the performance of IT infrastructure such as servers, databases and
network devices reflect in the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) in running
applications. In this workshop we will work on various cases to see what
effect performance has on the cost of an application. |

| 2. Cost of Upgrading IT:
When budgets get tight, upgrading gets dumped. What is the cost of letting
your IT assets become outdated? In this workshop we will build an ROI model
to show when there is and isn't value in updating IT. We will work together
on various cases to see what effect upgrading or not upgrading will have
on IT costs. |
| |
| 3. Budgeting For ROI: Today
there is too much emphasis on IT as an expense. This workshop will focus
on encouraging management to view IT as an investment and not a cost center.
We will work together with various cases and tools to measure and budget
IT investment returns. |

| 4. Risk Management: No
executive sponsor, no user involvement, no training, no publicity, plus
more work equal ineffective people and projects. Why bet on a race when
you can't get out of the gate? In this workshop we will work together on
cases and tools to measure what attributes of a project need immediate attention
to ensure success. |
| |
| 5. Cost of Downtime: That
is the question that many try to answer by taking wild and uneducated guesses.
In this workshop we will work together on cases and tools and will change
the guessing to an accurate predictable measurement method. |
| |
| 6. Networking and Collaboration:
This workshop focuses on team building, planning, communication, competitive
assessments, scoring and net minding. It will take place on the beach moderated
by the volleyball and the umpire. International CHAOS rules will apply (anything
goes). |

| 7. Pick the CLASS Award Winner:
Companies across the globe have submitted the name of their best project
managers for our CLASS Award. From all the entries, Standish has picked
the top ten, who will present their projects at the conference. In this
workshop our attendees will discuss the project and its manager and select
the "best of the best." |
