A native of Glasgow, Scotland, Gordon Divitt moved to Canada in 1968 after graduating in Marine Navigation from the Royal College of Science and Technology. After a couple of years in the Canadian Coast Guard he came ashore and started working in the Financial Services industry.

During his early career Gordon was the Project Manager for the first "Real Time On-Line" system in the Canadian industry and went from that experience to being the Systems Partner in an influential Pension Consulting firm.

In 1994 - after a varied series of jobs - he became the first President of FundSERV. FundSERV (www.fundserv.com) is the Mutual Fund Industry's communications network as well as operating a settlement facility for trading. It serves brokers, financial planners and fund companies from coast to coast in Canada and handles almost 100% of the electronic fund trades.

Gordon joined CertaPay (www.certapay.com) in 2001 as Executive Vice President - Operations and helped them create a Person to Person Internet money transfer operation. After its sale Gordon stayed with CertaPay and is now leading the effort to build a Person to Business solution which will eliminate the need for consumers to give credit card, or other personal information, over the Internet when shopping on the Web. Throughout his career Gordon has been on the forefront of many initiatives to automate financial services in Canada and has spend countless hours trying to persuade Executives that there was a payback for technology investments - even if it was hard to quantify in advance.
